Resilience Week Launches Year 9s into Space Exploration
As part of Resilience Week at ºìÁ«ÉçÇø, our Year 9 Physics students took a bold leap beyond the curriculum—straight into the cosmos!
Throughout the week, students explored the fascinating world of space exploration, learning about the science, technology, and human determination behind missions to the Moon, Mars, and beyond. This extra-curricular topic was chosen to highlight the resilience, creativity, and problem-solving skills that are essential not only in space science, but in life.
To round off the week, students were challenged to apply what they had learned by designing and building their own space exploration models using LEGO. Working in teams, they created imaginative and technically impressive models of landers, orbiters, rovers, and space probes - each one reflecting the ingenuity and perseverance of real-world space missions.
The activity was a brilliant way to bring science to life and celebrate the resilience that underpins both learning and exploration. We were incredibly impressed by the teamwork, enthusiasm, and engineering flair on display.
Resilience Week reminded us that pushing boundaries - whether in the classroom or in outer space—requires courage, creativity, and a willingness to keep going when things get tough. Our Year 9s certainly rose to the challenge!
